How to do it

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your arms at your sides.

  2. Bring both hands behind you and place them on your lower back, fingers pointing downward.

  3. Gently push your hips forward and lean your upper body backward, feeling a stretch in your chest and shoulders.

  4. Hold the stretch for a few seconds, then return to the starting position. Repeat the movement for the desired number of repetitions.

Form tips

  • Engage your core muscles to support your lower back as you lean backward.

  • Avoid overextending your lower back; only lean back as far as comfortable without causing pain.

  • Breathe deeply throughout the exercise, inhaling as you prepare to stretch and exhaling as you lean back.
