Execution

How to do it

  1. Sit at a cable row machine with your feet placed on the footrests and knees slightly bent. Grasp the straight bar with a close grip, palms facing down.

  2. Engage your core and maintain a straight back. Pull the bar towards your abdomen, squeezing your shoulder blades together and keeping your elbows close to your body.

  3. Hold the contraction for a moment, feeling the muscles in your back activating.

  4. Slowly extend your arms to return the bar to the starting position. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Form tips

  • Breathe steadily: exhale as you pull the bar towards you and inhale as you extend your arms.

  • Adjust the weight on the cable machine to provide enough challenge without compromising form.

  • Keep your shoulders relaxed and avoid shrugging them towards your ears.
