Execution

How to do it

  1. Stand with your feet together, holding a barbell across your upper back with an overhand grip. Ensure the barbell is balanced and rests comfortably on your traps.

  2. Slowly lower your body into a squat by bending your knees and hips, keeping your knees aligned with your toes.

  3. Lower yourself until your thighs are at least parallel to the floor, or as low as your flexibility allows, without compromising form.

  4. Push through your heels to stand back up, extending your knees and hips to return to the starting position.

Form tips

  • Keep your feet together throughout the entire movement to maintain balance and stability.

  • Ensure your knees track over your toes and do not cave inward.

  • Maintain a neutral spine and keep your chest up to avoid rounding your back.
