Execution

How to do it

  1. Lie on a flat bench with your feet flat on the floor, holding a barbell with an overhand grip, hands shoulder-width apart. Your arms should be fully extended above your chest.

  2. Slowly lower the barbell by bending your elbows, bringing the barbell towards over your forehead.

  3. When the barbell is behind your head, reverse the movement by extending your elbows to return the barbell to the starting position.

  4. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then carefully rack the barbell back onto the bench press rack.

Form tips

  • Keep your upper arms stationary and only move your forearms to isolate the triceps.

  • Lower the barbell slowly and with control to maximize muscle engagement and prevent injury.

  • Ensure a firm grip on the barbell to maintain control and proper alignment throughout the movement.
