How to do it

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding the ends of a resistance band anchored under your front foot. Place your back foot on a bench behind you.

  2. Lower your body by bending your front knee until your front thigh is parallel to the floor.

  3. Push through the heel of your front foot to return to the starting position, straightening your front leg.

  4. Repeat the movement for the desired number of repetitions, then switch legs to work the other side.

Form tips

  • Maintain an upright torso throughout the exercise to avoid leaning forward.

  • Ensure your front knee stays in line with your toes to avoid putting stress on the knee joint.

  • Keep your weight evenly distributed on your front leg during the exercise.
