How to do it

  1. Stand on a step platform with your heels hanging off the edge, holding a dumbbell in each hand at your sides. Position your feet hip-width apart.

  2. Slowly raise your heels as high as possible by pushing through your forefeet, lifting your body upward.

  3. Hold the top position for a brief moment, feeling the contraction in your calf muscles.

  4. Lower your heels below the edge of the step, feeling a stretch in your calves. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Form tips

  • Ensure the step or platform is stable and secure before starting the exercise.

  • Keep your movements slow and controlled to maximize muscle engagement.
