How to do it

  1. Lie flat on your back with your arms by your sides and a loop resistance band around your thighs, just above your knees. Keep your legs extended and together.

  2. Engage your core to lift your right leg straight up towards the ceiling, keeping the resistance band taut and your left leg flat on the floor.

  3. Slowly lower your leg back down with control, stopping just before your heel touches the floor.

  4. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then switch to lifting your left leg.

Form tips

  • Focus on engaging your abdominals throughout the movement.

  • Avoid lifting your lower back off the floor; keep it pressed down for the duration of the exercise.

  • Maintain a slight bend in your knee if necessary to reduce strain.
