How to do it

  1. Set an incline bench to a 45-degree angle and lie back against it. Hold a single dumbbell pressed between your palms just above your chest with your fingers extended or interlaced around the handle.

  2. Press the dumbbell upward by extending your arms, keeping your elbows close to your torso.

  3. Fully extend your arms at the top, continuing to press the dumbbell between your palms.

  4. Lower the dumbbell back to the starting position with control, keeping the dumbbell pressed between your palms. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Form tips

  • Exhale as you press the dumbbell upward and inhale as you lower it.

  • Avoid locking your elbows at the top of the movement to maintain tension on the muscles.

  • Choose a weight that allows you to maintain proper form and control throughout the exercise.
