Execution
How to do it
Stand on a step or stair with one foot on a higher step and the other foot on a lower step, ensuring the lower foot's heel is hanging off the edge.
Hold onto the railing or wall for support to maintain balance.
Slowly lower the heel of the lower foot below the level of the step until you feel a stretch in your calf muscle.
Hold the stretch for the desired duration, then slowly raise your heel back to the starting position. Repeat as needed for both legs.
Form tips
Maintain an upright posture and engage your core to ensure balance and stability.
Perform the movement slowly and with control to avoid straining your calf muscles.
Use the railing or wall for support but ensure your legs are performing the stretch.
Perform this stretch after a workout or when your muscles are warm to maximize flexibility and prevent injury.
No box? A stair step works just as well.
