How to do it

  1. Lie on your back on a mat with your knees bent and feet secured with a partner holding them down.

  2. Place your hands lightly behind your head or cross them over your chest.

  3. Engage your core and lift your upper body towards your knees, performing a sit-up.

  4. Lower your upper body back down to the starting position, maintaining control throughout the movement.

Form tips

  • Focus on using your abdominal muscles to lift your body, not your momentum.

  • Avoid pulling on your neck with your hands to prevent strain; use your core muscles to lift your body.

  • Keep a steady breathing pattern, exhaling as you lift and inhaling as you lower your body.
