# Creating an account

Anyone can create a hi.fitness account for free. The whole flow takes about a minute.

## Sign up

1. Go to the [sign-up page](/register).
2. Choose who you are:
   - **Trainee** - you want to track your own training and progress.
   - **Trainer** - you coach clients and build their programs.
3. Enter your first name, last name, email, and a password (at least 10 characters).
4. Click **Create account**.

You can change your mind later - this choice just sets up the right home screen for you.

## Confirm your email

After you sign up, we send a confirmation link to your email address.

- Open the email and click **Confirm email**.
- The link takes you to a page that activates your account.
- The link is valid for **48 hours**.

**You can't sign in until your email is confirmed.** This keeps your account secure and makes sure we can reach you.

### Didn't get the email?

- Check your spam or junk folder.
- Make sure you typed your address correctly. If it was wrong, just [sign up again](/register) - a new link will be sent.
- If the link says it has expired, sign up again to get a fresh one.

## Sign in

Once your email is confirmed, head to the [sign-in page](/login) and log in with your email and password. That's it - you're in.
