# Finding an exercise

The **exercise library** is open to everyone, without an account. Every exercise has a short video, the muscles it trains, the equipment it needs, step-by-step instructions and form tips.

There are two ways in: search it, or browse it.

## Search

On the library's front page, click the search field - or press **Ctrl+K** (**⌘K** on a Mac) - and start typing. Results appear as you type, in three groups:

- **Exercises**, matched on their name.
- **Muscle groups**, **Equipment** and **Training types**, which take you to a page collecting everything of that kind.

Press **Enter** to see the full list of matches, or use the arrow keys to pick a result and press **Enter** to open it directly.

### You don't have to type it exactly

Search is deliberately forgiving:

- **Accents are optional.** Searching `lawce` finds *Wyciskanie sztangi na ławce płaskiej*.
- **Typos still work.** `wyciskaie` returns the same exercises as `wyciskanie`.
- **Word order doesn't matter,** and the words don't have to sit next to each other. `przysiad sztanga` finds *Przysiad ze sztangą*.
- **English names work in every language.** Searching `bench press` on the Polish site returns the right exercise, shown under its Polish name. Results in your own language are always listed first.
- **A muscle or a piece of equipment is a valid search.** Typing `chest` offers the chest page alongside exercises with "chest" in the name.

One thing search will not do: it matches exercise **names**, not the instructions. Searching `bench` gives you exercises named after the bench press, not every exercise whose instructions mention lying on a bench.

## Browse

If you would rather explore than search, the library's front page is built for it:

- **By muscle group** - chest, lats, quads and so on, grouped by body region.
- **By equipment** - barbell, dumbbell, machine, bodyweight and the rest.
- **By training type** - strength, conditioning, mobility, yoga.

Every one of those is a real page you can bookmark and share. From any of them, the filter panel on the left narrows things further - pick a muscle group, then the equipment you actually own, and the list updates. Each filter you add shows up as a chip above the results, and clicking its × removes just that one.

## Using an exercise in your training

Once you have an account, the same catalog is available inside hi.fitness when you build a workout or start tracking, along with any exercises you have added yourself.
